(Kuala Lumpur) As businesses navigate through the MCO period, keeping costs low is a must in order to survive. For some, this means that they will have to delay or forego certain business services such as IP filing.
However, there is good news for Malaysians that are planning to file their IPs. The Malaysian Government has allocated a total of RM500,000 to the Intellectual Property Filing Fund, an incentive aimed at encouraging youths to register their IPs.
The fund is open to Malaysians aged 18 – 40 years at the year of filing the IP and gas never received funding for the submitted application from other sources. Only one IP component application is allowed to receive the fund.
The IP components that are eligible are:
- Patents/ Utility Innovations
- Industrial Designs
- Geographical Indications
